Her "Hairstory"

*Adanna @ 10 months*
Before she was 18 months, my daughter didn't really have much hair. From the time she was born, I would just use her Johnson & Johnson Baby Head-to-Toe Wash to wash her hair during bath time, rub baby oil all over her hair, and put it in however many "puffs" I could fit on there. When her hair finally grew long enough to braid, I was so excited! I started off with basic hairstyles, and soon enough, I began experimenting with different ideas.

With time, her hair grew longer, and I realized that her body wash wasn't working. I considered using my shampoo and conditioner on her hair, but at the time, my hair was relaxed, and I thank God I had the wisdom to know that her hair required something different.

And so my research began. This research led me into the online natural hair community, and ultimately ended in "my decision to go natural" (link to journey). So, you can imagine the valuable information I found. Beads, Braids & Beyond was (and still is) my go-to site for kids natural hair care and hair styles. Check out their website and Facebook page.

For my daughter's current hair care routine, head over to my "Toddler's Hair Care" page.
